Only a small number of officials were aware of the programme, which began in 2007 and was reportedly closed in 2012.
But scientists were doubtful, stressing that unexplained happenings were not necessarily proof of alien life.

The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Programme was the brainchild of Harry Reid, a retired Democratic senator who was the Senate majority leader at th
e time.
He told the New York Times: “I’m not embarrassed or ashamed or sorry I got this thing going. I’ve done something that no one has done before.”
Mr Reid – former senator for Nevada, home to the mythologised “Area 51” classified US Air Force base – later tweeted that the programme was a serious effort to get to truth amid “plenty of evidence to support asking the questions”.

They had previously only been accessible at the National Archives in Maryland.
The trove includes the papers of Henry Kissinger, who served as secretary of state under presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, as well as several hundred thousand pages of intelligence analysis and science research and development.
Among the more unusual records are documents from the Stargate Project, which dealt with psychic powers and extrasensory perception.
Those include records of testing on celebrity psychic Uri Geller in 1973, when he was already a well-established performer.

The disclosure comes not from one sole senator. More likely, from the pressure of a movement, working for a long time. David Wilcock is one voice. DW has not posted anything since november. There was another murder attempt at him earlier this year. Why try and take a civilian out if he was just a “wanna-be”? Anyway, according to DW, there has been a plan to a “graduated” disclosure from the American authorities. Perhaps this “partial” disclosure is part of that plan. With a twist, an inbuilt deception. The positive aspect is that one way or the other our BROTHERS from other realms and dimensions have kept contact. As for David Wilcock: I have followed his trajectory for many years, as a scientific turned new age, after recovering past lives, etc. He is doing a great service opening people’s minds and consciousness. Yet, I never felt fully comfortable with him [saw him last 2 years ago]; and even more after his association with Corey Goode. Who are they serving? not informed about murder attempts. November is only last month.
